The next person to call this unemployment gets it

** Warning: The following entry is what we here at Blogger like to call "Angry Gayle". "Sweet, Funny, Cute Gayle" will return in her regularly scheduled time slot tomorrow."

No joke people. If any more of you wise asses emails or IMs me asking me how my "vacation" is going or what it's like to sleep until noon and watch soap operas all day, I will seriously kill somebody. I know you're being silly and just cracking jokes but honestly it's getting freakin' old. Just because I'm not cooped up at some cubicle running Windows 95 on a computer that hasn't been cleaned since the Nixon administration, taking dictation from some oppressed control freak who has to stand over my shoulder as I file DOESN'T mean I'm not working or that I don't have a "job".

I've now been going at this for nearly 4 months and not a day has passed where I haven't been working my butt off. I'm writing, having meetings, making phone calls, auditioning, taking classes, going to writing groups, mailing headshots and going to the gym. By the time you are sitting at work procrastinating by reading this, I've already been up for 3 hours. And I'm not even making enough income from my writing to pay for this internet connection. But do I give up? No.

Yeah, I'm annoyed. And since this is my blog I can rant all I want to. It's just getting old because I've been teased since the day this all started. It's been hard as hell and discouraging and scary. But I also know I got more accomplished personally and professionally in the past 4 months than anyone I know has gotten done in the last 4 years. So enjoy your teasing now, because the day is coming when I will have to go back to work in office world. Or, if things work out, some money will start coming in, and I'll be the one teasing you about your terrible job and commute and how you have to put together another Power Point presentation for your moron of a boss.

Yeah. That's a great way to make a living.

I only wish I had the guts and the dedication. Thesis crunch time is coming and I have got nothing done!
