My civic duty

My jury duty number got selected so that means I have to report bright and early to this monstrosity today. Oh good, a court house connected to a jail! Maybe I'll see Martha Stewart? Oh dang, she's out already. Damn American legal system.

I'm hoping that either I get dismissed or I get put on a really cool Law & Order style case with really hot attorneys, a surprise revelation that makes everyone in the court gasp and the judge bang his gavel and yell "Order! Order! Don't make me clear this court room!" That would be cool. Or if John Cusack was being sued, and he just turned to me and mouthed the words "Please, don't do this...I love you." Man, that'd be SWEET. I LOVE jury duty!!!

It actually would be ironic if I got put on a jury, because I would get paid per dium money - marking the actual first time since I quit that I would have worked a paying job.

I had a really great meeting with a friend of mine who is a playwright who gave me some tips on how to get started. It was really inspiring. He tipped me off to this fantastic program which I will absolutely be applying for.
