Sisters are cool

I just spent the weekend with my sister. She came to NYC so we could finally pick a bridesmaid dress that won't make small children cry or men panic and search for the nearest trash can or broom closet. (What IS a broomcloset?? Do people seriously have enough space in their homes to dedicate an entire closet to brooms? And how many brooms would one need to have in order to REQUIRE such space??) Anyway here's what we are most likely going with:

Assuming the other bridesmaid is okay with this dress as well I think we've gotta keeper. And it looks NOTHING like the nightmare gown I dreamed about several days ago so we're already ahead of the game as far as I'm concerned. Now I get to have fun finding the perfect shoe. I'll wait for my shoe guru friend Belenda to help me on that hunt.

So anyway my sister's visit reminded me just how lucky I am to have a cool sister. (Yes, this is going to be one of those sappy blogs today.) Seriously...someone to go shopping with, someone to talk about serious issues with, someone to tell all the stories I've been holding in about the crazy men in my life. I just am really lucky and I wish I had something more profound than that to say but there you go.

How about this: If you have a sister, a brother, or just a really good friend, take a moment and send an email or IM or call and just say hi. Because good people that you can say anything to are hard to find!

Stay tuned tomorrow for my last posting until February 9...more on this tomorrow!!

LOVE THE DRESS! Guess what?! My bridesmaids dresses were periwinkle, too! (Okay - cornflower - whatever. One of the light blues you can only get in the Crayola 64 box.) I did the Make-A-Match separates thing. Since we're playing dress-up, here they are:
