I'M FINISHED

Yesterday afternoon I finished the first draft on a screenplay!! While I have over a dozen movie scripts that I have started at some point or other during my short writing career, I had never actually FINISHED one of them, until yesterday. I am SO thrilled that I got this first draft out. But now the hard part - all the rewrites. One of the things I wanted to do with my time of not working in an office was to finish a screenplay and I did it! Now I need to fix it up so it's in perfect condition so I can submit it to contests and agents. And in a couple years when the Academy Awards are being given out for best original screenplay, I can embarass the hell out of you with my completely inappropriate evening wear that shows nothing but cleavage.

Today will be a non-writing day so I can try to catch up on my apartment cleaning duties. Doing nothing by writing resulted in my apartment beign completely robbed of any maintenance or cleaning over the past few weeks. The bed is covered in index cards, pens, scraps of paper and pizza boxes. My couch and dining room table are decorated with clothes, hair curlers (look, when you're stumped on a plot twist, the best solution is to curl your hair), and unopened mail. This is why I want to write full time, because it gives you wonderful excuses to totally trash your living space.

So what's next? Well, there's days of rewriting that needs to be done; a book of short stories to edit; some tv show treatments to submit; new stand up material to write and eventually another movie. I'm thinking of a heartwarming story where a character (played by George Clooney) meets a nice girl (played by me) and then they have lots of sex. But first I better clear the pizza boxes off the bed.

Hey, it could happen. I mean, someone made Dude, Where's My Car. Why wouldn't they be interested in That's Right, I'm Bangin' George Clooney.
