Where is the REALISTIC Bachelorette show???

I'll admit it - I watch The Bachelorette. I also watched The Bachelor. And The Apprentice, and Real World Las Vegas. As a future TV writer I know I should abhor reality shows because they are taking up time that could be used for sitcoms or dramas that actually employ writers. But I do love some of them. The only problem is, THEY'RE NOT REALITY.

Take The Bachelorette. It is based on the premise of a girl having to pick from a batch of 25 amazing guys and hopefully marrying one. I haven't even known 10 guys in my life I even wanted to go out on a date with, much less 25 HOT ones. How is that reality? And even before these dudes actually get to know the girl, they think she's "the one" and would bang her right there on TV if it was acceptable to do so (or if it was being broadcast on Fox.)

My reality is that I am lucky to find one guy who doesn't make me want to gouge my eyes out and is still willing to talk to me. To have 25 guys who are attractive, have jobs, are smart, nice, etc. and who all want to be with me would probably send me into cardiac arrest in episode 1. During the rose ceremony or something. I'd be sereptiously trying to cut the roses in half so everyone could stay on another week. And when that host dude pulls me aside and says "Okay Gayle, there is one rose lef..what?? 10?? Where did all these roses come from!?" Little does he know my parents own a plant store and I could get HUNDREDS of roses! In your FACE ABC!!

Yeah, it's not fair, it's not realistic and no normal person faces the kind of choices that The Bachelorette has to make. Which, I'm pretty sure, is why we tune into this drivel in the first place. Because it's not reality. And we wouldn't have it any other way.
