I just heard about a new reality show. Oh good, a new one. Because we didn't have enough and heaven knows there are no more creative ideas in the world. (I say this sarcastically - why can't the TV industry accept original programming? Specifically programming written by me?? :)
Case in point:
Married on MySpace Trailer
So let me get this straight: the winning couple has the world plan their wedding, and they don't know any details until the day of. This seems different to me than the thing the Today Show does. It seems like the couple has a modicum of control there.
But with MySpace? Cameras following you everywhere, all the details left up to voters (and let's face it, the majority of us MySpace users can not be trusted with our own profiles, let alone someone else's wedding..I include myself in that!)
I can't imagine anything as awful as not being able to plan my own wedding. It's "MY" wedding (and my fiance's) how would a million people know what is right for me??
Yes the planning of a big event is overwhelming, and it might be better for some people if someone ELSE managed the details. If that's you, please apply. But for those of us who revel in the details, who like the personal experience of sharing their love with their friends and families (and their blog readers!) count us out.
We have TV shows to write, after all. Grin.
