And now I have to be nice to people????

Well. They did it. They shut down the transit system in New York City. 7 million people a day on average take the subway and busses in this city and now...well now we get to hope for a cab or walk 5 miles both way uphill to get to where we need to be gettin'. You thought I was mad yesterday? You should see me now. I got essentially no sleep because I kept waking up to check the news. It took them until 3am to officially decide to strike? Isn't this something we could have covered YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!???

This is Gayle with no coffee people. The sun isn't even up yet and I had to cut my vacation short. Damn straight I'm in a mood. Deal with it.

There are some bright sides to this completely ludicrous situation.

a) Because I'm such a kick ass office manager, I went in yesterday EVEN THOUGH I WAS ON VACATION and organized transporation services for the employees who needed to get into work today. (Either I'm a kick ass office manager, or I'm an idiot.)

b) My friend Harold let me stay in his gorgeous apartment in the city so I wouldn't have to deal with the commute this morning. It has internet, and pull out couch and an amazing view of the city. He may have trouble getting me out of here. Of course, if this jackass labor dispute continues I may be back tonight.

c) I conveniently included my name on the pick up stop for one of the car services we hired. I don't have to walk to work this morning.

Now all I have to do is find the neighborhood Dunkin Donuts and we'll be set.

Stay tuned, this is gonna be a doozy. That's right, I said doozy.
