A national tragedy

I am so upset right now as the hours pass by and I continue to read and hear about the tragedy in Louisiana. The tragedy isn't that a wonderful city is now under water, but that thousands of our fellow Americans are literally dieing waiting for recue and help. I can't even begin to think what this week has been like for people down there. I pray to God that something of this magnitude never happens to us again. But I'm infuriated over the response of our government. We spend billions of dollars a day over in the Middle East to "help" the Iraqi's, yet it takes five days to get basic supplies down to our own people in the south!?? It's such an outrage, and what's really bothering is there is nothing I can do.

I've attached links to groups that are accepting monetary donations. As I learn more I'll pass it along.

NAACP
Red Cross
Salvation Army
Habitat for Humanity
Presbyterian Church U.S.A.

I was able to find information about health kits that are being put together in Houston to help the refugees there. Here is the info...I'm probably going to organize something at my office. Hopefully you can too.
