Happy Labor Day everyone! One of our great federal holidays, that remind us that even the Fed needs a vacation. Or what George W. likes to call "August". I'm not going to apologize for that statement, a) because as an American it's my right to be disgusted with the government right now, and b) because if George has a blog, I'm sure he's complaining about ME.
Wouldn't that be awesome.. "September 5, 2005: You know who really bugs me right now??? Gayle Crispin."
So my Labor Day has been very productive - I have been writing all day and it feels GREAT to have gotten so much accomplished again. Reminds me of the good ol' days when I could do this all day every day. Unlike many of my dear readers, Gayle not working = Gayle not getting paid so I was a little sad to have a day off. YAH HEARD ME. I said sad. My rockstar lifestyle this year has left the savings well a little drier than I like, so I have enjoyed my past few weeks of working. Also sad that my cool temp gig is coming to an end on Friday. Which basically means I have only 4 days left to loot the office supply cabinet at the office. Note to self, bring larger bag to work tomorrow.
Having a day off makes me so thankful that I have a job - for the time being - to go to on the other days of the week. In light of what is happening in the southern states of this country right now, commuting to work and sitting in an office all day is actually a blessing. I know it will be only a matter of weeks before I start complaining about working again, but in the mean time, this Labor Day is a good reminder for me.
Hope you made the most of yours!! Even if "making the most" means sleeping until 2pm and watching Mad TV reruns all day.

That is just about my "making the most." Pancakes for breakfast, a little nap, yardwork, some TV, and a lovely couple hours by the pool. The weather was SO beautiful here this weekend - almost forgot I live in DC. Do I have to go back to work?
