It always strikes me as particularly crazy when a friend calls or emails you out of the blue. Yesterday I found out that one good friend is expecting, an old roommate had a second baby (I didn't even know she was pregnant in the first place!), I got in touch with a guy I knew at GW who lived on the same floor of my dorm, and ANOTHER friend checked in with me after he'd been admitted to the hospital Sunday night! All in one day!? [Harold, I'm so glad you're home and I'm working on your story for a 3 part blog series :)
It's just fun when someone from your past (or present) randomly contacts you. I work pretty hard at staying in touch with my friends so it's always gratifying that sometimes I don't have to be the one to do all the communicating.
