I'm having a great time in DC. I arrived Saturday and had a lovely visit with my college roommate Pam and her new baby Sarah. Also saw Jason, my law firm buddy and brunch with another former roommate Angie and Jaimie!! The DC office is really nice - yo, NY, we're getting robbed - and so quiet! it is funny though that not matter the location, stuff still doesn't work. Fax machines, copy jams...one wise-acher came by and told me in all seriousness that the toilet was clogged. I looked at him blankly and said "are you serious?" and I guess I must have had that look on my face that just made him say he was joking and apologize. It was pretty good. I gotta use that face more often.
Today is going to be a busier day with a couple big meetings but the facilities assistant here in DC really has things set up well so I feel confident about them.
Last night instead of going to the yoga class I had been planning (oh, and the gym I get free access to as a guest of this hotel? In the same building as my office...oh yeah) I walked over to the GW campus. Amazing how things have changed over there. They put a huge Starbucks in the first floor of the library. What the hell did they do with the books? Of course as I recall the library wasn't the best in the world to begin with, so a multinational conglomerate is probably a vast improvement.
On to another day - did I mention I'm close enough to walk to work!!? Whoohhoo!!
