Cheap ass flu shot

I considered myself lucky this year to get a free flu shot at the office where I am temping. Apparently they didn't want my contagious ass getting them all sick so they let me attend the annual health fair the company hosts and I was able to get a flu shot. That was about a week ago now...and all of a sudden BAM! I get sick. What kind of crappy flu shot did they give me? Those things are supposed to prevent you from getting sick aren't they? What was the point of dealing with a needle and a sore arm for a few days if I was just going to get sick anyway? "Oh the flu shot may not PREVENT you from getting sick, it just makes it so you don't get AS sick." WHAT? Hey, Doctor, how about developing a shot that actually does the job?? Yeesh.

I just heard on NPR that a congressiona representative in CA wants to build a gigantic fence between CA and Mexico to keep out illegal immigrants. Oh yeah, that's a great idea. Who came up with that one?? Home Depot??
