Ethan Hawke's ass crack

I just like that title.

This weekend I saw Hurlyburly, a three hour play about...um...um...I'm really not sure. Ethan Hawke plays this constantly drugged out or hung over casting agent in LA, Parker Posey his sometimes girlfriend, and the dude who played Will's boyfriend in Will & Grace plays his best friend. Great acting...terrible story and script. It was way too long, very difficult to follow the frenetic dialogue, and gratuitous drug use. I'm not sure what the playwright was intending to say, and as a playwright myself that's usually big on my mind: Why did he write this?? So if you have the chance to see this production in NY, pass and go see Doubt or Twelve Angry Men. Although Ethan Hawke is hot and amazingly believable in this difficult role, I wouldn't recommend it.

Today is my last week in working for Gayle Crispin Inc. full time. Next monday I head off to temp land, and who knows what adventures await me there. I'm excited about this week though - submitting my screenplay to a few contests, having lunch with a good friend, going to another play, acting class, cleaning up my desk and any out-standing projects, meeting with my writing group, then going to visit my sister and doing wedding stuff in Rochester!! I really can't believe I've survived these past 5 months, but can't wait for the day when I can do it all again.

Maybe I can write a movie about Ethan Hawke.

I noticed you didn't recommend seeing "Good Vibrations?" That's one of the best scripts on Broadway!
