I was interviewed last week by a student at George Washington University (my alma mater) doing a project for her journalism class. She was interviewing alums with interesting jobs and apparently misdialed a number and got me. :) Seriously though, it was fun, and it's a sure sign that I officially am a celebrity if I'm being called by the press to do interviews right??? RIGHT!?
We talked a lot about writing and comedy and it got me thinking about how and why I got into this crazy biz and why I want to stay. To that end, here a few inspiring quotes about writing.
"A writer is somebody for whom writing is more difficult than for other people." - Thomas Mann
"I always do the first line well, but I have trouble with the others." - Moliere
"Only a mediocre writer is always at his best." - Somerset Maughan
"Don't do what you can do - try what you can't do." - William Faulkner
"The worst thing you writer is better than the best thing you don't write." - Anon.
"I love being a writer. What I can't stand is the paperwork." - Peter de Vries
"The task of a writer consists of being able to make something out of an idea." - Thomas Mann
"A blank piece of paper is God's way of telling us how hard it is to be God." - Sidney Sheldon
You said it Sidney.
