What a difference a month makes!

I feel like it's been about a billion years since I posted here. I know that's a slight exaggeration, but so much has happened in the past few weeks and I haven't even had the chance to sleep, let alone tell you about it all. There's that pesky exaggeration again.

Anyway one of my big news items is I got my hair colored...as you can see by the blurry picture to the left. But hey, if you're half blind like me, it doesn't matter right? You get the point. I'm now a brunette with some crazy red and blonde highlights. Because underneath the normal girl next door exterior, I really am a rockstar.

Another VERY exciting news item? My screenplay Blaming Eve, you know, the one I quit my job to write? Well I submitted it back in May to a screenplay contest and guess what!? I just found out that I got honorable mention!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The director of the program told me they would specifically like to see it developed for the theatre so now you know what I'll be working on this fall. I'm so honored and thrilled to have gotten recognized this way. And I'll make sure to thank you all in person when I'm giving my acceptance speech for a Tony next year.

My temp job is still going really well...fun and new and different every day, and did I mention I get paid. Hey, there's something that doesn't happen every day. To me anyway. Add the acting classes and the writing consultations I'm doing now - oh , did I forget to mention that I'm now writing personal monologues for actors to use at the their auditions? It's good work for me AND it gives the actor a piece that was specifically written and tailored to his or her strengths.
