Talk about a good week to be a Democrat! For the first time in 12 years the Democrats are in the majority (albeit very thinly) in both the House and the Senate. This is exciting on many levels but most exciting of all is that it proves that people got out and voted. Despite issues with machines and slews of negative ads, the people have spoken. And whether or not you agree with them, you have to agree that it's a pretty exciting.
Look, I'm practical. I know it's not a massive majority . Everyone is going to have to work together across party lines to make changes (oooh look Ma, bipartisanship!) And we still have a lot of problems out there that are not going to be quick easy fixes now that someone new is 'in charge'.
It will be a lot of fun to see how Bush handles the new leadership. Or if just going to be two years of whining. While it would be great for comedy, it's not much good for everyone else.
